Every month of the year offers something new to do in Islamorada. From nationally televised boating and fishing events to cozy book readings and local theatre, our village of islands plays host to every type of entertainment. Many of these events encompass the best of our community's attractions by combining waterfront venues with great food, island music, a touch of local heritage and friendly faces united for a good cause. Auctions, raffles and benefit sporting tournaments are another staple of social life on the islands, and visitors to the Keys are always welcome to join the fun.

The below list of events highlights the current month's activities and is updated often. Ku Ku Konkanut 4th of July Tour (on the 3rd~)
The famous Ku Ku Konkanut tour bus will have their annual 4th of July tour on Saturday the 3rd, They expect to be able to see some fireworks somewhere, even though it will be the day before the actual holiday. Tour includes 2 for 1 drinks at 2 local island bars, coupon book valued at $45.00, with several 2 for 1 drinks on Duval Street; All guests will receive a Flag, and they will parade down Duval street with the bus singing GOD BLESS THE USA and AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL. Once again tickets are only $45.00 round trip, this is an excellent value for guests and locals.

2nd Annual Stay Ahead of the Parade 5K Run!
Before the Key Largo July 4th parade, a "Stay Ahead of the Parade 5k Run" is planned. Sponsored by the 'Upper Keys Reporter' and Upper Keys YMCA to fund summer camp scholarships for junior marine biology and literacy initiatives, the race is expected to start at 9:30 a.m.

July 4th Celebration!
There will be a 4th of July Celebration at the Founders Park in Islamorada at Mile Marker 87 Bayside. The event will begin at 6:30 PM and last until 9:30 PM. This wonderful celebration is put on by a committee called the Spirit of Islamorada in cooperation with the Upper Keys Rotary Club. It will include free fireworks for visitors who are staying at PARTICIPATING Islamorada Hotels/Motels. Admission is also free for Residents of the Village of Islamorada. Otherwise, admission is $10 per person, so bring your proof of residency! Or wear your wristband if you are staying at a participating Hotel or Motel/Resort. Not sure if your hotel is participating?? just call them and ask. If they are, they will have a wristband for you and your entire group so that you can be admitted for free. If you are staying at a hotel /resort that is NOT participating, there will be a 10.00 per person entry fee, but it will be well worth it! There will be an apple pie contest, potato salad and a Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest. There will be entertainment from 6PM until 9PM followed by a fireworks display. The Upper Keys Rotary will be serving food and will also be selling beer. All proceeds will benefit the Upper Keys Rotary's scholarship fund and Upper Keys athletic programs. Rotary also supports the local Boy Scouts and the Education Coalition of Monroe County's C.A.M.P. program.

To be held at Hawk's Cay in Marathon from 5:30 until 7:30. All individuals interested in being considered for the XIX class as well as Alumni are invited.

Saturday (Afternoon/Night) in the Park Event!
A Festival style event in Founders Park from 3:00 until 10:00 PM. This will be a very very ARTS oriented event put on by the Collegiate Arts Magnet Program which is a program put on by the Educational Coaliton of Monroe County. here are the details: Saturday in the Park Event July 10th (saturday) At Founders Park in the Upper Keys in Islamorada at Mile Marker 87 Bayside $5 donations will be accepted for parking Havana Soul will be playing their big Latin sounds! There will be Beer! There will be lots of food! There will be free kid's activities! paint a gnome hat! There will be Tie Dying (Bring a white t-shirt and its free! ) There will be cotton Candy!! Face Painting! The ECMC Ballroom Dancers will perform! ECMC Jazz Band will perform! There will be vendor booths featuring jewerly, movie passes and more! There will be an Art booth for kids to try their hand at painting with working artist teachers there will be henna tatoos! So come out for the Beer, Food and plenty to do! Even get a ballroom dancing lesson! Groove to the sounds of a Havana Soul from Miami and there will be lots of activities for kids! Don't miss the Tie Dying (if you forget to bring your own white cotton t-shirts or tank shirts no worries; buy one there to dye for only $8) The kids will love it! Come out and show your support for our Monroe County kids!
